February 8, 2003, Airport Firefighters responded to a Motor Vehicle Accident
on Airport Way, and were informed one of the vehicles had rolled over and
the driver was possibly trapped. Crews arrived on scene to find an SUV that
had left the roadway, rolling over a snowbank in the process, and confirmed
that the driver was trapped. The Amkus extrication tool on Rescue 1 was
immediately put into service, and the driver's side door was forced open. Once access was gained to the patient, firefighters began treating the driver until the ambulance arrived. While approaching the airport terminal, the SUV was T-Boned by a pickup truck, and rolled off the roadway. |
